A new section in the library is in the process of inauguration at the IEM-UEM campus, for general knowledge and humanities section for putting thrust in public domain placement. Already in the IEM-UEM, a huge number of students get recruited in the public sector.  

IEMJEE National Joint Entrance examination was conducted on 7th May, 2016 all across India in 61 centres in the different districts of Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Rajasthan, Delhi, Bangalore.

Transit of mercury on the face of sun was a phenomena which was visible from Kolkata on May 9th. This was observed by the faculty members and students of the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata from the University roof, using Reflecting telescope, which has been funded by the Optical Society of America to the University. The SPIE and OSA student chapters of the University of Engineering & Management organized this sky watch.
