National Youth day celebration at UEM JAIPUR The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR celebrated National Youth Day on January 12, 2024 initiated by National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat Abhlyan (UBA) cell of the University, with the students participating in Extempore competition, Volleyball and Tug of War competition, and blood donation camp. The day commenced with an enlightening Extempore competition, where students passionately spoke on the theme "Today's Youth for Yesterday's Youth", reflecting on the responsibility of the present generation towards societal progress. A thought-provoking discussion ensued, focusing on the significance of National Youth Day and the timeless lessons imparted by Swami Vivekananda. Students engaged in a dialogue, exploring the relevance of Vivekananda's teachings in contemporary times, fostering intellectual growth and self-realization. The sporting spirit was alive with a vibrant Volleyball tournament and Tug of War competition, providing a platform for students to showcase their athleticism and teamwork. The campus resonated with cheers and camaraderie as participants displayed their prowess on the field. Adding a touch of altruism, students actively participated in a local blood donation camp, embodying the spirit of selfless service and community welfare. The event not only celebrated the youth's energy and dynamism but also emphasized the importance of contributing to society in meaningful ways. These are moments from the 2nd International Conference on Advances in English Language Studies (ICAELS-2023) held at the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR. The University of Engineering & Management hosted a two-day 2nd International Conference on Advances in English Language Studies (ICAELS-2023) from November 3rd to 4th, 2023. The conference featured keynote speakers from across the globe who shared their valuable insights and perspectives on the theme Reimagining English Language Education with Digital Technology. Distinguished professors like Prof. David D. Perroidin (USA), Prof. (Dr.) Darshana Samarweera (Sri Lanka), Prof. (Dr.) Laxman Gnawali (Nepal), Prof. (Dr.) Rajul Bhargava (India), Prof. (Dr.) Z. N. Patil (India), Prof. (Dr.) Masood A. Malik (India), Prof. (Dr) Shalini Yadav (India) and other eminent scholars from various parts of India graced the inaugural session of the conference on 03 November, 2023. This prestigious conference received a significant number of submissions, with over 300 research articles from across the globe. A rigorous selection process led to the acceptance of around 70 papers, making an acceptance ratio of less than 25%. These selected works were presented over the course of the two-day conference in front of esteemed professors in the field of English language. The paper presenters were from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and SriLanka. The conference convener, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Yadav, explained that the ICAELS-2023 Conference achieved its objective as it provided a valuable platform for scholars, academicians, and experts from around the world to share their insights, research findings, and engage in discussions to enhance their knowledge. Furthermore, it encouraged the long-term exchange of knowledge and the exploration of use of digital technology in improving teaching learning process. Students of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), JAIPUR attended the technical session on Role of Indoor environment quality and energy efficiency in decarbonizing buildings by ASHRAE Rajasthan Chapter on 23rd December, 2023 at The Fern An Ecotel hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The speakers Dr. Chandra Sekhar, Mr. S. N lyenger and Dr. R. S. Iyenger enlightened the audience with their immense experience and knowledge on what is decarbonization, what are the processes involved in it, various sensors and loT devices that will form the BMS (Building Management System). The audience were thankful for such a great technical session summarised within a short duration of time. The event was successfully conducted by Dr. Shivraj Dhaka, Dr. Jyotirmoy Mathur and the whole ASHRAE team.
