DAY 2 - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AT UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT JAIPUR 10 June-14 June, 2024 On the second day of the Professional Development Program at the University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur, attendees were honored to welcome Dr. Nanda Dulal Jana from NIT Durgapur, who presented an enlightening session on "Exploring Emerging Frontiers in Deep Learning: Neural Architecture Search for Automated Model Design." Dr. Jana's comprehensive presentation covered a spectrum of topics, including Hand-crafted CNN Models, the Importance of Model Architecture in Deep Learning, Challenges in Manual Model Design, Neural Architecture Search (NAS), Search Space and its Encoding, Evolutionary Algorithm-based Search, Performance Estimation Strategies, and the NAS Framework. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where Dr. Jana adeptly addressed participants' queries. Dr. Anurag Hamilton, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, delivered a Vote of Thanks to conclude the session. The second session featured Prof. S. Magesh, a renowned technocrat and innovator, who provided an insightful lecture on "Understanding Case Study as a Research Method." Prof. Magesh discussed the significance of case studies, their historical development, characteristics, and various types, supplemented with practical examples from the business field. Dr. Tarun Sharma, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, offered a Vote of Thanks to bring the session to a close. Throughout the day, the sessions were adeptly moderated by Dr. Snehlata Dhaka, Associate Professor in the Department of English, with technical support from Prof. Dipta Mukerjee, Proctor at UEM Jaipur. The program saw active participation from 80 faculty members, enhancing the academic environment with their presence and engagement.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 10 June - 14 June, 2024 The University of Engineering and Management Jaipur has commenced a 5-day Professional Development Program starting from 10 June, 2024 to 14 June, 2024. The first day began with an inauguration ceremony, including a welcome note by Prof. (Dr.) Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur. In his address, he welcomed all experts, dignitaries, and participants, highlighting the engaging and diverse range of topics that make this PDP particularly interesting. Following the welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Yadav, Associate Dean of Academics and Foreign Relations, elaborated on the objectives of the PDP. The expert speaker for Session I was Dr. Sheikh Subidh Ali from IIT Bhilai, who discussed the nuances of DeepFakes and the technology behind creating DeepFake videos. His extensive lecture covered topics such as neural networks and their loss functions, convolutional neural networks, autoencoders, generative adversarial networks, types of DeepFakes, and the general steps involved in creating DeepFakes. The session was highly appreciated by all participants. Session II featured Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Palwalia, Dean of Academics at RTU Kota, who delivered a detailed presentation on NBA and NAAC accreditations. He emphasized the importance of accreditation for higher education institutions, provided an overview of the NBA accreditation process, and discussed the benefits of NBA and NAAC accreditations. Additionally, he covered the general principles of learning outcomes, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and the structure of CO statements. His comprehensive talk thoroughly explored the processes of NAAC and NBA accreditation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ankit Sharma, HoD of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Notably, the entire session was moderated by Dr. Snehlata Dhaka, Associate Professor in the Department of English, with technical support provided by Prof. Dipta Mukerjee, Proctor at UEM Jaipur. The sessions were attended by 80 faculty members.

On 7th September 2025, the students of Atrang: The Cultural Club of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, had the remarkable opportunity to participate in the Jaipur chapter of Mood Indigo Multicity, hosted at the vibrant VGU campus. Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s annual cultural extravaganza, stands as Asia’s largest celebration of art, music, theatre, and dance, and the Jaipur edition gave our students the platform to showcase their creativity and competitive spirit. Our students participated across a wide spectrum of events—Mantra (group singing), MI Idol (solo singing), Aagaaz (street play), Desi Beats (dance), and MI: The Best (multi-skill showcase). Each performance reflected their talent, passion, and determination. Among these, a moment of immense pride came when UEM Jaipur secured third place in Mantra, earning a ticket to perform on the grand final stage at IIT Bombay. This achievement is not only a milestone but also an inspiration, as our students prepare to represent UEM Jaipur on one of the country’s most prestigious cultural platforms. More than a competition, the event was an experience of learning, growth, and creative exchange—every performance witnessed, every interaction made, and every applause received added to their journey of excellence.
