Cyber Peace Foundation in association with Ministry of IT had organised a Global Conference on Cyberspace(GCCS 2017). There was an event, named, Peace-a-Thon (basically Hackathon). Around 900 teams participated. Only 5 teams were being declared as winners. One team (Blue Monk) from University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata is one of the 5 winners. Sayak Dhar (CSE), Saswata Das(CSE) and Debanjit Sarkar(CSE), students of University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata will receive the award from our Honourable Prime Minister . Aritra Mukherjee, 2nd year student of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), a professional international game developer (the owner of Brockbard studios) has now developed this wonderful light game "Wiggle", a natural stress buster. Tiyasa Bera, 2nd year ECE student of UEM, Kolkata participated in TECH EAGLE, National Student's Space Challenge 2017 held at IIT Kharagpur on 2nd & 3rd September, 2017 and was awarded for Best Fabrication. UEM Kolkata First Convocation ceremony was successfully organized in Science City. We are honored to have as Chief Guest - His Excellency Shri Kesari Nath Tripathy, Honorable Governor of West Bengal. UEM granted honorary Doctorate of Engineering degree to Mr. Ajai Chowdhry, Co-founder of HCL; To Padma Bhusan Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Member of Niti Aayog and Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University; and to Shri Shekhar Dutt, Former Defense Secretary and Governor of Chattisgarh.
