University of Engineering & Management (UEM)

The sun is shining brighter this summer, and the University of Engineering & Management (UEM) is getting more and more visible to the people across the globe. A journey not so big in length, has achieved heights in these 7 years, now being rated the topmost University of Rajasthan and West Bengal, ranked by the NPTEL examination initiative of the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in association with 6 IITs and the IISc Bangalore.
The University never feels as much pride of its enormous accolades, as much as it does for the topmost quality of 1000+ students that have passed out of this University over this period of time. The top corporate chairs across the globe to the admission forms of the Ivy League universities have started containing the names of UEM-ians.
In 2017, the students of UEM emerged World Champions of IEEE USA Maker Project by developing an innovative gaming console out of e-waste. IEEE USA being the largest organisation in engineering across the world invites students’ projects from all across the globe, and amongst students all across Australia, America, Germany and many others, the accolade of being the toppers were achieved by students of UEM. In 2017, the students of UEM were awarded by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on being the toppers of the country in competitions conducted by the Cyber Peace Foundation, Ministry of Information Technology.
Feathers after feathers have been added by the students of UEM to their University cap and UEM started riding their glory. Students won the National Space Challenge Competition in 2016 organized in IIT Kharagpur, and were also the champions of National Ethical Hacking Championship and National Robotics Championship organized by IIT Delhi in 2017. Developing their own All Terrain Vehicle, capable of running in different terrains, students of UEM themselves drove and raced on the same, emerging 2nd in state level in Mega ATV championship. Their own developed Go Kart, with which they also participated in such national platforms, emerged the champions at state level.
General Motors designed special appreciation for the vehicle developed by UEM students, which took part in the International Baja SAE Championship. The 3-D printer designed and manufactured by the students of the University were used in designing their own gears of another Mega All Terrain Vehicle, which won them the championship of the SAE India Convention – Zonal, 2018.
Today, when every alternate day, an alumni comes up with a call letter from Universities abroad, it comes back to the mind of the founders, the days of 2011, when the platform of glory was being established, and these accolades were distant dreams. The University was established in Jaipur in 2011 by Ordinance No. 11 of 2011, later promulgated into Act. No 5 of 2012 of Govt. of Rajasthan and was established in Kolkata by Act No. XXV of 2014 of the Govt. of West Bengal. It is recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. It is founded and managed by the reputed IEM group which established IEM earlier in 1989 as the first self financed institute of West Bengal and now a NAAC “A” grade institute and in the rank band of 101 to 150 of NIRF rankings, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, amongst the 100s of IITs and NITs in the country.
UEM is now collaborated with University of Nevada, Las Vegas USA, Brunel University London for students’ exchange and teachers’ exchange program and students of UEM have presented their research papers in University of British Columbia Vancouver Canada, Columbia University New York USA in front of delegates and researchers from 71 countries all over the world. They have represented both the SPIE USA and OSA (Optical Society of America) student chapters of India in California USA, being the ambassadors of these societies of our country.
Riding on the brilliance of these soldiers, UEM has received several awards from Star News, ABP News, DNA News Group etc as the Most Promising and the Most Innovative University of the country, and was also internationally awarded in Golden Globe Tigers Award, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
The University believes in Active Learning and Flip class model being followed in reputed Universities across the globe. The University runs an internet channel called Gymkhana TV, where all it’s lecture materials are uploaded in the form of video lectures. Students come prepared to classes from those and discussions are held in classes for their applications. Students have come up with industry based applications like GPS based drones to spray pesticides in fields, Human Thought based Machine control, manufacture of economic mini-CNC machine, manufacture of economic 3-D printer which have been applied for patents and are in discussion with industry for their full fledged industry applications. University has also received many DST (Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India) funds for different such projects. On behalf of DST, UEM organises school meet programs all throughout the country in different states.
Best people deserves the best, and to give them the best, UEM has designed a syllabus in complete Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model. Any student can choose any subject any semester, subject to completion of pre-requisites, and can thus opt to choose those subjects of study throughout the curriculum, on which he/she would like to focus his/her career.
UEM organizes International Conference – UEMCON in Columbia University New York USA, International Conference – CCWC in University of Nevada Las Vegas USA, International Congress – UEM Congress in Sasin Business School Chulalongkorn University Thailand, where professors and researchers from all across the globe meet and present their research papers. All these conferences are done in collaboration with IEEE section of the corresponding country and the research papers presented in these conferences are indexed in IEEE Xplore. Students of UEM have exhibited their talent in presenting their research papers in front of foreign professors and delegates in those countries. It’s International conferences held in India like Optronix, Biospectrum etc attended by several foreign delegates from Japan, USA, Canada etc.
Students of all passout batches of UEM have ensured more than 1 job offer for themselves. Highest job offer for its parent institute IEM has reached Rs 40 lakhs per annum in 2018 as offered by Adobe.
Alumni of parent institute IEM is present all across the globe in Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon USA, and are also present in all top Universities of the world including Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, Stanford University, Harvard Business School etc.
Similar glories are all happening in UEM with its alumni now spread from all length to all breadth of the globe. Summer is getting in, sun is getting brighter and brighter, and it is shining more and more nowadays on the head of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM). On 7th September 2025, the students of Atrang: The Cultural Club of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, had the remarkable opportunity to participate in the Jaipur chapter of Mood Indigo Multicity, hosted at the vibrant VGU campus. Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s annual cultural extravaganza, stands as Asia’s largest celebration of art, music, theatre, and dance, and the Jaipur edition gave our students the platform to showcase their creativity and competitive spirit. Our students participated across a wide spectrum of events—Mantra (group singing), MI Idol (solo singing), Aagaaz (street play), Desi Beats (dance), and MI: The Best (multi-skill showcase). Each performance reflected their talent, passion, and determination. Among these, a moment of immense pride came when UEM Jaipur secured third place in Mantra, earning a ticket to perform on the grand final stage at IIT Bombay. This achievement is not only a milestone but also an inspiration, as our students prepare to represent UEM Jaipur on one of the country’s most prestigious cultural platforms.
